What is Portable Expert?

Portable Expert brings your AI expert directly into Canva. Get help with copy, layout decisions, and design feedback without leaving your canvas. Your expert has full context of your page content and can assist with writing, editing, and creative direction.

Getting Started

Open the Portable Expert app from the Canva Apps panel.
Click Sign in to Portable and complete sign-in in your browser.
Select which expert you want to chat with.
Start asking questions about your design. The expert can see your page content automatically.

Troubleshooting

Sign-in window doesn't open

Make sure pop-ups are allowed for canva.com in your browser settings. Click "Open sign-in page" again after allowing pop-ups.

Expert can't see my page content

The expert reads text content from your current page. If your design is image-heavy with no text elements, try describing what you're working on in your message.

Connection errors

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, contact us at the email below.
