Overview
Portable uses SMS messaging for user authentication. Users who choose to sign in with their phone number receive a one-time verification code via SMS. This page documents how users consent to receive these messages.

Step 1: User Navigates to Sign-In
User visits the sign-in page and selects "SMS Code" as their authentication method.
Step 2: User Sees Consent Disclosure
Before entering their phone number, the user sees the following disclosure text:

By entering your phone number, you agree to receive verification code text messages from Portable. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
Step 3: User Submits Phone Number
User enters their phone number and clicks "Send verification code". This action constitutes their consent to receive the SMS.
Step 4: User Receives Verification Code
Portable sends a one-time verification code to the phone number. The user enters this code to complete sign-in.
